Abstract

This community service initiative aims to introduce the exemplary lives of figures from church history to foster a commitment to ministry among the youth at GBI Ecclesia. The educational program, themed "Youth in the Vortex of Church History," was conducted in two sessions and involved 189 participants from the youth and teen groups. The initiative employed an educative-reflective approach, linking periods of church history—specifically the life of Augustine—and intergenerational collaboration with the responsibilities of ministry. The content was further enriched through a literature review. The organizers noted a highly positive and inspiring response from the participants. While these results indicate a favorable initial reception, the extent of any increase in knowledge or shifts in ministry commitment has yet to be measured. Future steps will focus on providing realistic ministry opportunities, facilitating intergenerational mentorship, and conducting periodic evaluations to assess how these exemplary values are being applied within the life of the community.
