Strategy for Using Number Tree Media to Improve Number Recognition Skills in Early Childhood

Early numeracy skills are a fundamental aspect of cognitive development in early childhood and serve as a foundation for later mathematical learning. This community service activity aimed to describe the implementation and effectiveness of the number tree media strategy in improving number recognition skills among Group B children at TK Negeri Ponding-Ponding. A participatory approach was employed, involving teachers and children actively in the learning process. Data were collected through observation and documentation of children's development during instructional activities. The results indicated a significant improvement in children's ability to identify, sequence, and match number symbols with corresponding quantities. In addition to enhancing cognitive skills, the use of number tree media positively influenced children's learning motivation, active participation, and fine motor development. The strategy is recommended as an innovative and developmentally appropriate approach to support early numeracy learning in early childhood education settings.
